What!?! You mean you don't frequently ask
questions about Mr. PiBB? Well, maybe you should. And there is
no better place to ask questions about PiBB than here. If the
question(s) you have aren't listed here, then
send them to me. But even
more importantly, if you have any answers or facts about Mr. PiBB in
general, please let me know. I can't do all the work
myself, you know...
Mr. PiBB is a rare and beautiful soft drink, bottled by Coca-cola. I have heard its flavor describes as anything from "like Cherry Coke" to prune juice.
2. Can I get Mr. PiBB paraphanalia?
Yes! I have personally seen ball caps, T-shirts, hacky-sacks, Post-It pads (shaped like Mr. Head), an analog watch, big sports cups, foam can insulators, and even a mouse pad! I don't know where you can get these normally, but I have heard of McDonalds' (especially in the southwest?) giving out some of these.
3. Can Mr. PiBB improve my car's performance?
Yes! Mr. PiBB is great for removing corrosion from car battery terminals and wires. Simply dip the corroded metal into a glass of PiBB (make sure the car is switched off) and swirl it around. Repeat until the clean metalic shine is back in your wires. Note: I am not responsible for any accidents that may be result from following these directions, incorrectly or otherwise.
4. Is there Diet Mr. PiBB?
Yes! Diet Mr. PiBB is sold in some southern states.
5. Where exactly is Mr PiBB sold?
Obviously this information is at least incomplete, if not totally inaccurate. On the other hand, if you were planning on visiting some part of the country that's marked in red, you may actually have a pretty good chance of finding some of the Most Excellent Beverage.
6. In what kinds of containers does PiBB currently come?
Twelve fluid-ounce cans of Mr. PiBB are available in singles, or as parts of 6 or 12 packs. PiBB can also be purchased in 20-ounce, 1 liter, and 2 liter plastic bottles. As far as I know, both the 16-ounce bottles, and the glass 20-ounce bottles have been completely discontinued. Unfortunately, the glass bottles provided the clearest taste of Mr. PiBB, and we must all make do with either plastic or aluminum hints in an otherwise perfect beverage. Mr. PiBB is also available as a fountain drink. The average shelf life of Mr. PiBB is about six months.
7. Isn't PiBB just a pale imitation of Dr. Pepper?
No, actually, it is a better realization of the same idea. Mr. PiBB has a fuller, richer taste, more body, and none of the aftertaste that haunts Dr. Pepper.
8. Where did the name "Mr. PiBB" come from?
Marshalk Advertising was looking for an easy-to-pronounce name that would appeal to young people, and settled on the name Mr. PiBB. In 1975, the name was changed to "Sugar Free Mr. PiBB."
9. When was PiBB first made, and by whom?
Mr. PiBB was first introduced in September of 1974 by Coca-cola. It was originally sugar free.
